Referral Contests

Run Referral Contests in your Forum

INFO

Referral Contests is a dynamic and engaging addon for XenForo that enables forum administrators to run contests based on member referrals. This addon incentivizes users to invite others to join your community by rewarding them for successful referrals. It gamifies the process of bringing in new members, offering tangible rewards and fostering a sense of friendly competition within your forum. Referral Contests can be used to boost forum growth, increase engagement, and encourage existing users to help expand the community.

With Referral Contests, users can track their progress, see who they’ve referred, and participate in challenges where they compete for prizes or recognition. Administrators can set up various contest parameters such as referral goals, prize tiers, and duration of the contests. Whether you want to run a month-long referral challenge or a limited-time event, Referral Contests makes it simple to create and manage referral-driven campaigns to grow your forum.

❇️ Addon Key Features:

Referral Tracking: Automatically tracks users who have been referred by existing members. Each referral is logged and attributed to the referring user, enabling admins and participants to see who is driving the most new sign-ups.
Customizable Contest Rules: Admins can set custom rules for each contest, such as the duration (e.g., weekly, monthly, or special event), referral goal (number of successful sign-ups), and how the contest is scored (e.g., first to a certain number of referrals or most referrals over a set period).
Prize System Integration: Set up prize tiers based on referral achievements. For example, users who refer a certain number of members can earn rewards like premium subscriptions, custom user titles, or exclusive access to content.
Real-Time Leaderboard: Display a live leaderboard that shows top referrers and their referral counts. This creates friendly competition among members and encourages more active participation in the contest.
Automatic Prize Distribution: Once a user reaches the referral milestone or wins the contest, the addon can automatically award prizes, such as forum points, memberships, or special user titles, based on the contest’s rules.
Referral Invitations: Users can easily invite others to join the forum via personalized referral links. These links track each user’s referrals, ensuring the process is smooth and automated.
Referral Goals and Milestones: Define multiple referral milestones and goals. Users who hit specific targets, such as 5, 10, or 20 referrals, can earn different levels of rewards, encouraging continuous participation throughout the contest.
Flexible User Group Permissions: Set permissions for who can participate in referral contests. You can restrict contests to certain user groups (e.g., only premium members can participate) or open them to all members.
Customizable Notifications: Both administrators and participants receive notifications about contest progress, new referrals, and prize eligibility. This keeps users engaged and informed throughout the duration of the contest.
Integration with XenForo User System: The addon integrates seamlessly with XenForo’s existing user system, making it easy to track referrals, display referral-related content, and distribute rewards without disrupting other features.

❇️ Addon Benefits & Use Cases:

Boost Forum Growth: Referral Contests are an excellent way to incentivize current members to bring in new users. By offering rewards and recognition for successful referrals, your community can experience organic growth through the power of word-of-mouth marketing.
Increase Engagement: Running a referral contest introduces an element of friendly competition, encouraging users to be more active. The live leaderboard, progress tracking, and prize incentives keep participants engaged and motivated to continue referring new members.
Encourage Community Building: Referral contests can help expand your community by encouraging users to invite friends or like-minded individuals. This builds a larger and more diverse membership base, making your forum more vibrant and interactive.
Incentivize Long-Term Participation: By offering meaningful rewards (such as premium memberships, special user privileges, or access to exclusive content), Referral Contests can incentivize long-term participation in the forum. Users are more likely to stay active and continue referring others if there’s a clear reward at the end.
Gamify the Referral Process: Referral contests add a gamified element to the referral process, turning it into an exciting challenge. This increases user interest and makes referring others more fun, rather than just a task to be completed.
Targeted Growth for Specific Goals: Admins can set up contests with specific goals in mind, such as growing the forum for a particular niche or boosting membership in a certain area. By defining the referral targets, you can ensure that the growth aligns with the forum’s needs.
Enhanced Forum Rewards and Recognition: By recognizing top referrers with visible rewards (such as special badges, custom user titles, or exclusive access), you can increase user loyalty and make high-performing members feel valued for their contributions to the community’s growth.
Encourage Positive User Behavior: Since referral contests reward users for bringing in new, legitimate members, they help encourage positive growth. Unlike other forms of spammy or automated growth tactics, this method encourages genuine participation and engagement from both new and existing users.
